Ferrum Health is pleased to announce, CEO and Co-Founder Pelu Tran has co-authored the article “Is AI the Ultimate QA?” published by the Journal of Digital Imaging in February 2022.
The article discusses the novel method of leveraging AI by combining computer vision and natural language processing to function in the background, monitoring for critical gaps in care. This AI Quality workflow uses a visual classifier to predict the likelihood of a finding of interest, and then leverages natural language processing to review a radiologist’s report, identifying discrepancies between imaging and documentation.
The article explores current and potential benefits of this technology, and how this new approach will better reach radiologists who may be averse to adopting AI.
Ferrum Health is a pioneer in developing AI solutions in healthcare. Pelu says, “We have built a safety net to catch patients who might slip through the cracks of diagnosis and peer-review through AI technology and our AI Hub that empowers physicians without disrupting their workflow. Together with our health system and developer partners, Ferrum Health is building a future in which every patient can benefit from the best technologies in the world, no matter who or where they are.”
Pelu Tran, Co-founder, and CEO of Ferrum Health is a serial healthcare entrepreneur living in San Francisco. Pelu studied both medicine and engineering at Stanford University, giving him a unique and practical understanding of AI in healthcare.
